Supercruise now judder city

A cataclism of events has happened (well, Microsoft upgrading my PC to Windows 10 without my permission) and the latest game patch, so I'm now using 0.8/SteamVR.

Frame rate is fine in stations and most of the time on planets and in normal space (generally, this has improved over the 0.5 setup I was using a few days ago).
However, supercruise has become judder city once again. There doesn't seem to be a particular cause - it judders near planets, it judders in deep space. Occasionally the frame rate is smooth, but mostly the judder is nearly intolerable. Setting graphics to "Low" doesn't help. Supercruise was perfect using runtime 0.5 a few days ago.

Using a GTX980 and Intel i7-4770K with the Rift DK2 and runtime 0.8+SteamVR.

Not possible..

I woke my PC up a couple of weeks ago to be presented with the 'Welcome to Window 10' screen. I didn't ask for win 10 to be installed, so just declined the 'legal stuff' and it reinstalled win 7. For the next week windows pestered me about booking an upgrade time. I ended up getting a new system and smashed up the old HD with my cricket bat.

Microsoft has started delivering Win10 via windows update. They are pushing hard to get all eligible computers upgraded. So if you're not careful it will upgrade your computer during an update.

The Win 10 auto update had something to do with 'Recieve recommended updates like critical updates' check box..
I heard its possible to roll back to win 7 within one month of update and was thinking of trying it out for that reason..
..but i will miss win 7 and AERO.. (windows with clear glass) :-(

Ignoring the Windows 10 upgrade talk in here, the actual problem is that you are now on the 0.8 runtime going through SteamVR which is known to cause a performance drop; And since the latest patch removed 0.5/0.6 support anyways, there is nothing you can do until the final SDK comes out. I'm still on Win 8.1 with 0.5 but there is no way to play unless I upgrade to 0.8/SteamVR. You should see a major improvement with the final SDK and Win10 anyways.

If it were the SteamVR/0.8 combo I would imagine the judder would show up in stations and on planets. Yet it's only in supercruise, and only some of the time.

In my case (AMD) SC starts pretty normally, but the judder increases the longer SC is active. Exiting SC and re-entering resets (and around we go).

This is anywhere, empty, busy, does not matter.

From start to so judderly I have to cancel SC (if I need to do anything other than looking forward) takes about a minute or so.

they cant upgrade you to win 10 unless you click on the button, I admit that they did throw up that button so many times that you would accidently click on it eventually. and the steam/vr judder now shows up in any busy stations where it didnt in 0.5 or 0.6.

Basicly unplayable stuttering mess now since the win 10 update with 0.8 unless you are in a very lonely system.
