superpower rank carryover quetion[SOLVED]

I know that even if you hit 100% on your current rank, it carries over to the next, but my question is: can it carry over all the way, say:
you start at Recruit in federation, then spam grind it non stop without taking a single federal navy rank up mission. Does the XP carryover go all the way or stops at 100% of the next rank, so would the xp collected go past cadet, and carry over into midshipmen and so on, or once it hits 100% on cadet, all the rest gets lost?

asking this mainly cause flying 600 LY is a pain from evangelis is pain

Afaik, it just keeps building. Pretty sure I've had multiple follow on rank missions.

It "stores" it until you get a rank up mission, or at least it used to years ago when I last did it, you won't see it until you do a rank up mission, but it is there.
