My idea here is a way of increasing friendly player interaction while providing an incentive for said interaction.
The basic outline of my idea is for players wanting to up their rank with a given superpower. I'm thinking a good way of doing so, while also increasing the interaction between players (something I find is sometimes lacking) is to have a high rank player "sponsor" a low rank player, with this sponsorship giving a small boost the the rank increases of the lower rank player.
The way I imagine this working will be that someone can request sponsorship through a service available at all stations affiliated with their chosen superpower, and available sponsors will be able to choose someone to offer their sponsorship to. But in order to make it more worthwhile (this is where the interaction comes in) the players will have to complete a short mission together before the sponsorship bonus is applied, with other missions being made available after that they can work together on and these missions would provide an increased rank bonus.
