Drops 1% per day, down to 75% (Friendly)
The only benefit currently obtained by being Allied to a superpower is this: when you run missions for minor factions affiliated with that superpower, the reputation gain you get for that minor faction from completing that mission is increased. I think you get double the rep at Allied than you do when you're only Neutral. So becoming Allied with Federation-aligned minor factions is quicker and easier when you first become Allied with the Federation.
Just to point out: minor faction rep does not decay at this same rate. Once you're Allied with a minor faction, you stay Allied to them until/unless you start actively opposing them.
As far as I know, your superpower reputation has no bearing on the probability of obtaining rank-up missions, other than you need to be at least Friendly with them.
