Supply destination details for surface delivery missions

As a trader who does not carry a discovery scanner, I'm always disappointing when I see a well paying delivery mission available, but to a planet for a system I have no system data for and often cannot buy the appropriate data for. Even worse, when I fail to check if I can get or have the data needed to find the planet the base is on, and I discover I can't complete the mission upon arrival, I then get fined for failure to deliver. Could it be changed, so that you are provided with the system data (not for the full system, but just for the planet you need to deliver to), so that we can't be caught out like this? I just had to turn down a 200,000 cr for 5 ton job, which would have been great, because I can't get the data for the planet. Hate doing that.

So after accepting the mission and then visiting the Galaxy Map, it doesn't have an icon on the system that mission is directing you to?

No, it does. The problem is, if I don't have the system data, I can't view the planets in the system in the system map. And once I arrive at the system, because navigating to the starport on the surface relies on having the system data for the planet it's on, I cannot lock onto the starport to fly to it. If I were carrying a discovery scanner, I would be able to scan for the planet, but if I'm not carrying one, there is nothing I can do, and I cannot make my delivery.

No problem, if your not carrying a disco scanner, before taking a surface delivery mission, make sure to confirm you can view the planet in system map, otherwise don't take it. Not a mistake you want to make the fifth time. :p

Seriously, I've had three 150,000+ credit missions I couldn't take because of this in my three stops at a port.
