What is NATIONAL SUPPLY
Purchase a set amount of Su poly for Gold Reserves The supply—to—
go'ld ratio ca n. be improved through. {resea rch. You are limited to 5
conversions per turn.
what ?
What's that for? Is that what soldiers carry with them in battle? Or what's that for?
How about someone create a manual to read. It's completely opaque.
What does it do and what's it for?
There are 2 sources of supply you can draw from.
Global supply, and company supply
Global supply: this is in the bottom left hand corner. when you build supply depos and their upgrades the extra supply you use in battle is taken from that pool. if your depos can have 2000 supply but your global supply is only 1500 then you get 1500 supply in the battle from your supply depo.
Similarly, if you had 10'000 global supply but no supply depo, you get 0 supply from your global in that battle.
.
You may increase global supply by spending 500 gold to get 150 national supply. The research "negotiated exchange" "limited exchange" and "Favourable exchange" under research tab "logistics" will increase how much supply you get per transaction when buying supply but it will NOT decrease its cost.
No matter the research, each turn you may only "buy supply" a maximum of 5 times per turn. Though it is uncommon for you to need to do that.
.
Company supply: Each infantry company will have a set amount of supply.
Interestingly the different nations companies have different "supplies carried"
For the Central Powers: Constcripts and regulars have 150 supply, Elite have 170 supply
Meanwhile for the Triple Entente (allies): Regulars have 180 supply, elite have 200 supply
On all of these occasions this is on a "company by company basis". This means if you had 1 german regular company you would have 150 supply because of it. If you had 3 central regular infantry you would have 450 supply because of it.
No matter how many or how few companies you have in a tile, this "supply" is free. it does not come out of your "national supply" at any point.
.
Global supply and Company supply stack with each other.
.
Infantry forces cannot be purchase so I assume you meant you bought an army of tanks planes and siege artillery. All are helpful on the attack and defence but not actually necessary to beat the game (TRUST ME, They make it INFINITELY EASIER)
Instead of buying a lot of units or buildings, just buy a few. There is no shame in spending a turn or 12 not ordering an attack anywhere. IRL generals would spend literally months planning a grand offensive just to watch half a million men move the front line 6 inches forwards.
Similarly, you do not need a plane or a tank or a siege artillery on every single tile. Just the ones you want to attack out from or think you will be attacked in from. This can be learned through experience and looking out for "doom stacks" on your borders.
.
No matter what research you do or don't get you will end up getting some gold and some supply each turn that passes. Going through the logistics research branch will increase the amount of supply, gold, and even infantry companies you will gain each turn.
.
Losing men costs gold.
if you lose 30'000 men in 1 battle you're going to have to pay 3000 gold for it. if you lose 500 men you may only need to pay 300 gold. The cost of casualties has changed in the last update so these numbers are not accurate, but it gives you an idea. Preserve forces, if all you take is 1 control point and you lost most of your companies, cut your loses and take the national will blow to the enemy. You can win without ever pushing the lines back even if you get pushed back (just make sure you kill a lot of them for every inch they dare to try and take)
.
To your first question of "has anyone beaten the game" I have beaten it as Central, I have beaten it as Triple entente, I have destroyed their national will and I have taken the capital city as both sides. Now I seek to beat it as the British's puppet states (India, Canada, Australia, and I guess Belgium)
