This would be a nice (and probably easy to implement) feature: when clicking "play", the launcher should be minimized to the system tray (there could be an option to toggle this behavior).
Right now, I always close the launcher after clicking "play", because it interferes with alt+tab (for example I alt+tab to get to my browser or TeamSpeak, but since the launcher is also in the task bar, it's also in the alt+tab list.)
