Support Vessels officially GONE . . . surprise (not).

It would have been good if a so-called "support" ship could have done something supportive like go down to a surface settlement and purchase 1000 units of Tritium.
Or doing surface mining, as a mining support vessel...
Or enabling new exploration gameplay mechanics as an exploration support vessel. Like the possibility so get some "preview" of nearby system to understand if it worth to jump there or not.

This. I'm surprised more people on here aren't talking about it. They basically cut more content, out of something they've been working on for 2 years and kept delaying. But hey we're getting something at ALL so let's be grateful and look the other way shall we?

Q. What happened to the support vessels?
A. We examined the concept of predefined load-outs through the use of support vessels, but they restricted the level of customization that we wanted Fleet Carriers to have. We removed the support vessels and changed it so that Fleet Carrier owners had more control of the Fleet Carriers' customization.

The monsters! Giving way to more player controlled customization.

What travesty will they think of next?

CQC, Power Play, Multicrew, Thargoid War, Interstellar Initiative-Community Goals, Instancing, zero surprise here. My last hope is the next new big DLC, hope that I still have.

I was always wondering why people thought the support ships would be an asset somehow.
They were always "background noise", a 3D wallpaper announcing the role of your carrier, at least what I understood from the fc announcement.
I'm glad they are implemented in the carrier.
