Powerplay Supporting Minor Faction

I've been playing the game since launch and when PowerPlay came out I was super excited. I really gravitated towards Aisling as the lady of the people, underdog princess. However, as others, I am getting tired of the really static leaderboard. The underlying simulation in PowerPlay is really powerful, with all of the minor factions growing and shrinking, affecting their systems and the systems around them. I realized that the real fun is there and so why not pick one of those minor factions and get in line and support it? Of course, the normal rewards won't be there initially, but Frontier did state that the major factions can change as new factions enter the battle and others leave. We haven't seen one leave, but I want to take the challenge on of putting a new face on the board.

So who's with me? Who wants to go out, pick (or make), a faction to be that underdog and fight to make it a major faction? I don't know that anyone has tried this yet, maybe because of the audacity of the idea, but I think it is worth a try. :D

Check the Dangerous Groups forum. There are many player factions working the BGS for their chosen minor faction (of all the political persuasions within the game) and eschewing Powerplay, many of them with the goal of pushing their minor faction to Power status.

One thing I find interesting is the amount of negative talk about Power Play (deserved or not) by groups who are instead working the BGS, with the goal of becoming a Major Power...in Power Play...

Please take this post as light-hearted!

I'm personally against that course of action for my group. The point was that there are PMFs that do want to push a minor faction to Power status.

Agreed, and my post was in no way directed at you. Apologies if it came off that way. I genuinely find it interesting, intellectually. My own chosen PMF abhors Power Play as a consensus, and that is just fine with me.
