Surface Data Scan payout nerf from 3 data to 1 data, why?

Hello, so I noticed that surface data scans have been nerfed to only give 1 data, instead of the regular 3, which is what every other data/mat collection gives, why? Nowhere in the patch did you mention this would happen, it's also some of the only ways to get certain data if you do not want to camp out rng mission rewards. It's also not overpowered in giving data, because you can't simply "board hop/switch instances" for you to get data again; you have to wait an entire week before you can go back to that spot and scan the 5 data beacons within an allotted time period given. This is honestly really ridiculous, why have we not received any information regarding this at all since 3.0 was released?
 
All data scans, it seems. Has to be a bug?

I haven't tested anything else besides surface scans, so I can't say. I went on to do my weekly surface scans, and noticed I was only getting one data mat payout instead of the normal three. I am about to kill some npcs in a cnb, so i'll see the payout for them.
 
Already reported but fdev don't say nothing about that, also the fix are not present in 3.0.3 patch notes.

Wow... I wonder if they're purposely ignoring the topic. It's hard to gather high level data giving out 3 already, 1 is just demoralising - especially with these out of whack material trader payouts.
 
The mission boards are full of Modified Embedded Firmware though. This being G5 data it's excellent to exchange at the material trader, especially the conversion rate into the much needed Cracked Industrial Firmware is great.

This change was not needed, though. You have to wait weekly before you can get data from the same spot. It was a great alternative to having to do a bunch of missions to get data. To me it makes more sense in "lore" terms to get data from these surface beacons and what not instead of doing missions over and over again.

Why you guys try to compensate one failure with one good feature?

Only because we have material traders (With insane exchange rates betwen materials BTW) this don't means that base runs need to useless just because of the guardian new content.
(I'ts pretty obvius they screw up the data recieved in SRV scans just to limit guardian orb drop)
 
Honestly, I just found this method much more appealing. It was nice jumping system to system, planet to planet, and gathering data. Different views, exc. Instead of board hopping and doing winged delivery missions over and over again. It was a nice balanced system and fun, in my opinion. It was not overpowered, I would average I think 5 or 6 modified embedded firmware an hour, around the same in cracked industrial firmware and a bunch of other lower end data.
 
Collecting 3 materials at once was introduced to alleviate the issues from having to discard materials back when storage was small and combined, it's possible that it's intentionally scaled back.

In that case, why is it that we still receive 3 materials from manufactured materials and raw materials - why only data? Why was it not inputted into any patch notes whatsoever? It just came out of the blue.
