In Horizons 2.0.02 going to heavily defended POI's was a risk if they were red to you and you went within about 850m of a turret it would open up on you and quite violently. It didn't 1 shot you but would do a lot of damage if you didn't take care and make sure you only took one at a time your were in trouble.

Since 2.0.03 I don't think a defence turret has fired on me once and Ive been around 650m from them
