Good luck finding exquisite focus crystals, biotech conductors, and MEF / CIF at the moment, because they don't appear to be spawning. Oh, but if you need articulation motors or micro-weave cooling hoses (because everyone needs that stuff, right?), you'll be drowning in that.

Like, why can't these things be found in rare signal sources or something? Why do they absolutely *have* to be locked by a notoriously, heinously clumsy mission system that essentially throws a leaded pair of dice at your eyeballs every single time?

I'm not entirely sure that this is true, I've been throwing these things away as I don't need them. There's also Dav's Hope in which these things spawn regularly, or some of them at least, and you can just pick them up off the ground. Or you could a week or two ago.

Can confirm that the materials can no longer be found. Spent most of yesterday looking at mission boards and running missions in many different places including Quince, Wu Guinagi and a few other places where I am allied. In addition I browsed the passenger lounge now and then. I noticed that the material rewards were less since the last patch update (there used to be missions giving out up to 8 materials for a mission - yesterday I never saw more than 1), and the rarer materials had gone.

I was looking for exquisite focus crystals since I blew my last batch of 20 EFC on crap rolls (DAT RNG!), but I did not see a single ECF, biotech conductor, or cracked industrial firmware. I also did not see any modified embedded firmware, but then I have never seen any as mission reward, ever (not sure it's supposed to show up).

I didn't have trouble getting the Firmwares via base scanning. Wanted CIF, kept getting MEF. EFC still come from missions sometimes. Biotech, I haven't seen. They seem borked, but at least they're not all unobtainable.

Got plenty of MEF/CIF from data point scans the other day. I'd personally be aggrieved if every material was only gleaned as a mission reward. I think FD have the balance right at present.

There have been changed to mission rewards.. seeing CIF coming in stack of (4) for elite rank mission, Biothech (2) and exquisite (2)... There seem to be enough of the last 2 mission types if you have a high rank and good rep... the CIF are more rare, but there are bases to get them from if your in a rush (Science bases Med security)

seems Very rare came come in 2,Rare=4, then stacks of 8 and 16 for as you go down the rarity. was please Fdev added this.

What you are describing is what I was seeing before the last patch, but since the patch I have only seen material mission rewards of (1), and not of "the good stuff". When was this screenshot taken?

Sure, MEF and CIF can be obtained from bases, but EFC and biotech conductors only drop from missions...and not for me.

They were fine before the latest patch, they're not now.

For the third time now whilst releasing a patch FD have screwed up the spawning of EFC, CIF and BTC as mission rewards.

And for the third time idiots are posting they're ok without checking or knowing what the hell they're talking about.

Mr Fruitbat knows his stuff. He got 60 CIF just before 2.3.10 from mission boards.

So, the patch broke the spawn AGAIN?

Let's hear it for 2.1 mat gathering ...

I'm curious Silver - at this stage of your PvP career, what could you possibly need more CIF for? Incredibly small chance of getting better Thrusters?

Yes, a strange reaction. All i did was voice my findings, and no i havent been checking since the patch as im not constatly tring to roll max rolls... so how would i know there is an issue.

I strangely assumed that once Fdev fixed the issue, it would stay fixed. Not hard to be civil if you think people haven't noticed the a change... just ask them

I don't know whether EFCs are showing up or not, but I CAN confirm that I am "drowning" in mission reward articulation motors and micro-weave cooling hoses!

I shall be upset if there is indeed a lack of EFCs as I just jettisoned a whole bunch of them after being overloaded in the previous patch and needed to clear out some mat storage!
