I want the option pack my economy and business cabins full. I dont understand why the game does not allow me to put multiple groups of people in the same cabin.

Then I found out VIPs won't share cabins, and are marked on the mission board with a crown icon. Lol
You can fill cabins with normal passengers.

Surely though, they should pay for the entire cabin then. And in any case, if they want a cabin to themselves, then why are they in Economy class?
They do pay for the entire cabin, sort of.
The payout for VIPs is generally a lot higher than standard.
But I don't understand what an "economy VIP" is. Lol
"I'm too poor to travel first class, but rich enough to rent out the entire cabin...?"
A proper VIP trip would actually rent out your entire ship, not just a cabin.
You don't go renting a luxury private yacht, and end up with a load of strangers in some of the rooms.
The whole passenger thing makes very little sense if you think about it.
(I don't care though, it's better for the game that way).

Well, I guess economy VIPs are a bit like Luke and Ben Kenobi in Star Wars IV... They don't want anyone else in, and simply don't care about luxury either way.
Regardless, I think this whole thing is more related to how Elite's economy lets "customers" determine every aspect of the contract, and expect the job-starved spacers to accept them anyway.

The cabins should be shared by everyone first class and below, like an airliner. Luxery is the only class that should be by themselves, imo.
This all boils down to the need for renegotiating contracts. There should be options to ask for mats, more/less money/time, etc. Also, Id like to be able to sell passengers into the black market. Some of them tick me off.
