"Survival Request Denied"

Picked one too many fights with dropships last night, had to run for my life with a broken windshield / depleting oxygen. No problem, I'll go to a large station close by - plenty of time. Got to a Coriolis station with 1:30 oxygen left. Great, made it "Docking request denied". Nooooo I've never had a problem getting into a large station - ever! Breathing getting heavy now, 1 minute of oxygen left. "Docking request denied" Ok panic, can I go solo, get back to the station gain access and get in and live? This invokes the 'can't exit for 15 seconds' rule. Back to the Coriolis "Docking request denied". Accept my fate and hit self destruct.

Just another day bounty hunting in space.


(BTW - what would have happened if I just expired through lack of oxygen? Am I back to square one in a siddy with 100 credits?)

Running out of oxygen is like going to sleep...

Its exactly like self destruct, you can buy the ship back from insurance if you have the Credits.

Ouch! That's bad luck. Thankfully I've only ever experienced this once, on the tiniest of outposts, and it was an NPC who quickly cleared off.

I reckon they will do something about docking request issues. Seems a bit like an oversight on FDev's part.

Yeah, emergency docking port would be nice. Only available things: oxygen and hull repair.

You could have tried just flying into the station without permission. That should have recharged your oxygen back to full and the station gives a warning before opening up on you. I've flown in by mistake in the past and gotten out before they started shooting. You might have gotten away with it.

Don't forget fuel on the emergency docking Port. Was looking for some Black Box. Forgot keeping my fuel in sight, recognized it after Finding the Box, on flying to a station some Pirate tried to rob me. Got out luckily. Then with the last drops of fuel the station went to Docking Request Denied Mode. Disabled all unneded modules to get some more time. But after some minutes of Docking request denied.... It's hard in space.
