These would be a lovely addition to the game, a good throwback from roller coaster tycoon days, and a nice new ride type to play with. Now we have pools/volumetric lakes/water mechanics, these would be perfect! 
It would of course be an awesome mechanic if you could just let the boats into the pond without a track, like you could in roller coaster tycoon, and guests would navigate the water like animals do in Planet Zoo.
Has anyone tried to make something similar by sinking a tracked dark ride in a lake and decorated the car as a swan?
