I don't see why we couldn't get a customizable loadout at least for the SRVs. I love the idea of more options and weapon systems availability.
I do disagree on one aspect, though:
-Scorpion turret - long range multicannon (Remove that jitter already! Just reduce the damage!) + homing missile
I actually prefer Scorpion turret in combat to the Scarab and the extra shield+armor allows you to close the distance on the enemy. Put full pips on the gun and let the gun wind up 2 seconds, it will become accurate enough to allow you mow down enemies with ease. The effective DPS is higher than on Scarab and allows you to kill on foot soldiers and Sentinels (from Guardian sites) faster and with less effort, it even helps if you play more aggressive insteand of keeping your distance and trying to snipe, drive around them and keep that distance shorter than on Scarab, the only issues I had with Scorpion were those security patrolling ships on specific bases than can chew up on any SRV, even ships if they're not fitted for combat. Plus, you have 500 more bullets in the gun compared to Scarab +an additional 2000 rounds magazine to reload after emtying the first one.
But, coming back to my initial point: having more loadout options ESPECIALLY on a combat SRV would make great sense. If you prefer long range, then let the player go with accurate weapons, like Multicannons, Cannons, Rail Guns etc. If you want short range, let them go with a Shotgun-type weapon, if they want to go full-ham on the enemy then forget those pew-pew guns and go full KABOOM with your weapons!!!!!!
It's odd how Elite threats explosive weapons though, I think rocket systems, torpedoes etc. should be more devastating since you're more limited in ammo and most of the time, in game, they fall short on damage compared to other weapon systems - especially since there's plenty of counters for them.
