Sweet FX or no sweet FX

Im just wondering if anyone has any definitive information on the view FD take on the use of sweet FX

It does alter the game .exe as far as i know (??) , so im wondering if this is against the EULA, and if FD condone the use of it , or support it.


I did a few searches, but couldnt find anything from a Dev on the subject.

Well there is a whole topic on SweetFX (and others) and not once has FDev came in and said it was wrong.
Some mods have posted in the threads that use it..

I assume it's safe but I have no concrete evidence. I use it myself.

Frontier's stance on exploits is it's only an exploit if the player gains credits from it. That's from Frontier's support team.

Because it is a small visual change only, and does not give the player an advantage or credits, I think it's safe to say that it isn't an exploit and totally fine.

Also what they said about devs / mods not coming in with the ban hammer on the thread.

Yeah , i had wondered, ive seen forum moderators commenting in sweet FX threads, and not saying anything bad, just wondered if any actual dev had commented on it.
