For a fact, this isn't the monastery of the Saint Holy Elite for virgin girls. Try reading Facebook comments under any news posts. If you think this is , then those would convince you, that you need to leave this planet and have your own starbase 4 lightyears away.

It has been a bit intense of late. I expect, or hope, things will calm down a tad.

It's understandable. A lot more people are entering the game now. A fair number are not familiar with the design philosophy of DB and crew, or the specifics of planned features. These people expect things to be a certain way based on other games.

People who have been around a while and have read the DDA and followed the things DB has said get impatient with noobs clamoring to change design decisions made months ago. The new people feel that the vets are being elitist snobs.

<adjusts Alpha monocle>

We are.

We backed this game and we want to see it develop into what the devs and the majority of the backers wanted it to be. A lot of us made it to Elite on dead-flesh keyboards and tape drives that would drive a saint to tears.

Modern gamers have it so lucky, but try telling them that ;) If they are so dead-set on demanding that Elite: Dangerous morph into something else that they find easier to test (because nobody is playing anything at the moment) then they are more than welcome to invent their own IP, code their own game, and tell everyone about how good it is :)

And good luck to them :)

Hmmm. Having played the original back in 84. (Elitism on) all I see is the old guard/alphas etc demanding the game be altered to suit their needs. I got news for you. . It isn't your call. The devs are making the game they want. So again. I will say. . Wash the sand out. .

Those old guard alpha guys are not the ones demanding the game be altered, as far as I can see. The alpha guys had a lot of input in the design decisions, months ago. Why would they be the ones wanting alterations now?

Indeed! I think we alpha puppies generally like the way things are going. Tweaks are welcome, though!

:D S

Also sometimes it seems those who tested this game a bit longer seem to have to answer the same questions over and over and over and over again. It seems to me that almost every day someone complains that the cargo he picked up floating in space is marked as stolen and then when explained why, he argues of why it shouldn't be so...
I know and accept that a huge part of that is a lack of a quick comprehensive guide for them to read and us to point at.
