Switch between VR and Desktop mode

I'm not part of the Alpha, so I'm curious to know if Frontier have improved the transition between VR and Desktop, so you can more easily switch between them? Especially now where you cant use VR mode on foot.

What I would love, is that if you take of the headset (maybe with a 5 seconds timer), then Elite would automatically switch to Desktop mode, with the Desktop settings. Putting it on again then Elite would switch to VR mode with VR settings. Alternative a hotkey that allows to switch between the modes and settings, just like it's done in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.

Currently I'm using EDProfiler to switch settings but not very optimal since you have to exit the game to switch.

VR isn’t officially being tested at this stage - that it works at all in the Alpha is a bonus.

Currently the (hoped for) auto-switch to monitor when taking the headset off isn’t implemented - however, we can now change the 3D setting in the Graphics Options and have it take hold without having to exit or restart the game.

..and it works in 2d in the headset, so the transition can be taken in the headset, switched to desktop and then on you go, if that's what you want. I just play it in the headset.

MS Flight Simulator 2020 handles VR very well, two sets of graphical settings and you can switch between VR and 2d on the fly.
