Fleet Carriers are just the Anaconda Mk 2 now. Frontiers shortsightedness has made them the easy-go-anywhere next big ship to own.

Should have kept to their original vision and made them squadron assets that needed cooperation, mining, and logistics to maintain and move. Now they're a plague and ruin every single system map they swarm to whenever a place is mentioned in GalNet, as well as causing lag issues when there's too many in one location.

I really hope there's an option to hide them on system maps in Odyssey, as well as turn them off in the HUD too.

Still will ruin jumps. Because when carrier "scans for landing position" it does "lock" on server, reserves place for itself. Anybody trying to enter/exit SC near that body = Orange Sidewinder. Lock needed to sync servers on all platforms timeouts clients.

They should have treated their presence inside Systems like special Ships instead of hard-coding them like Outposts/Stations and cluttering System Maps & straining the entire related infrastructure to its limits...

With various Beacon Options, those Vessels would be nothing more than Signal Sources or Symbols in a new Transient Services System Map Option - and subject to user-selected Filtering... even invisible in the own Navigation if desired.
The other way around, there's certainly a few Carriers or moments where Carrier Operators would prefer to remain undetected inside a System just as well.
But the way they were implemented (very crude and unflexible), they cause all the well-known issues and acquire a bad reputation over it - which IMHO is completely undeserved if it wasn't for all those avoidable mistakes.
