Synthesis and Report Crimes now take time to engage

I just noticed this recently. It used to be instant; synth new ammo and BOOM, done. Turn Report Crimes on/off, BOOM, done! Now we wait a period of time. I can sort of see the reason for synth, but turning Report Crimes on/off should be as fast as turning on the landing lights.

Why the change?

I'm sure you were around in the Beta Forum.

This was all discussed in there.

But basically, synth is to stop "Infinite" heat sinks, as well as generally trying to make synthesis tougher to achieve in combat.

And the crimes on/off flag is so that people can't suddenly flick to report crimes, in the middle of a fight (say, an arranged duel) they are losing just to bug people.

Also does turning of reporting crimes get reported to other cmdrs? I saw a message pop up yesterday that a cmdr is disabling security link or something along those lines.

I think the synthesis delays need some looking at. As I understand it, the purpose of these was to prevent people from spamming them in combat, which does on the face of it seem logical, but why on earth does charging up a jumponium FSD jump now have a timer? I mean really, do people often pause in the middle of a firefight to think 'actually, this would be an ideal time to boost my jump range by 100%'? The timers are all set individually - the FSD range synth one should be set to 0.00. As things stand it is just making something take more time for the sake of it.

You get a Gold star for passive/aggressive. Well done!

Maybe next time you respond to a post you can try to be less P/A? Hmmmm, that would be great!

As for everyone else who resaponded in a civil manner, thanks for the information. I appreciate it.

Hey man, I meant no offence, I was just trying to jog your memory, as I think I remember you posting some useful feed back in the beta forums.

Sorry you ended up with the wrong end of the stick there.
