I knew it existed but in light of my many, embarrassing, wildly unsuccessful NCP combat attempts, I've cracked the lid. I'm hunting Hg right now for Small Cal munitions and I gotta say, I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far. And I'm hopeful, the enhanced ammo will help me. I do see how it could get grindy, but so far it's offset my recent discouragement.

I'll add my synthesis feedback.

I'd use synthesis a lot more if there was more space to store materials. But the way it is now, I have to vent large numbers of materials or mining becomes impossible.

As for synthesising limpets, I'm now convinced that it was never intended to help miners. Particularly as it doesn't replace enough limpets to be worth the materials space. At best, when mining in a metallic ring, it will replace 7% of your limpets.

I concur, just under 5 hrs of farming yielded a single reload on 3 of my 4 medium multi-cannons and I had to dump a painful amount of other resources in the process. Great idea in principle but woefully impractical in practice.

Limpet synthesis was made for explorers in mind. Still as a new temporary miner I keep venting irons and nickel by the droves. I guess 1 synthesis for 4 limpets is not too bad, considering am already going to vent them anyways.
