At the moment we collect materials for synthesis at a great time and cost to ourselves, we can either use the materials we collect to boost aspect's of our SRV or ship, or if we have too much of 1 product we can eject items to be blown to the 4 winds.

As we collect or materials instead of ejecting and once we hit x amount of 1 kind of material (say 50) why can't we convert that into cargo to be sold as a material in the commodities market, this would at least make collecting viable.
