System architect should have an advantage when expanding from his own system (for a limited time)

TLDR: After finishing the initial port the system architect should have an advantage when choosing the next system. For example, let the colonization contact be accessible only to the system architect for the first 24 hours

With most (if not all) good systems near the bubble gone, now it requires building one or more intermediate outposts to reach the system you're eyeing (hypothetical scenario)
right now you're not awarded in any way for it besides getting the system you don't want, and after building the outpost anyone can come in and use the colonization contact to claim the next system you were building the bridge to (this happened to me) Why don't architects have any advantages in their systems? at least for a limited time?

Agreed. I've been as careful as I can be to prevent this myself, but it's inevitable. Especially once I get close to some of the landmark systems along my route. There's one system I'd really like to secure for my friend, so being able to whitelist other players for immediate access would also be a good detail.

True, you might made a bridge of systems to a desired system and some "lurker" waited till your last outpost is done and claim your system before you even can.

Luckily this isn't happened to me yet, because I was faster than the "lurker" (He contacted me on inara about it)

yep, the controls similar to a fleet carrier would go a long way. Something like "First 24HR colonization access: None, Friends & squadron or everyone"
It would promote healthy competition, right now it's all risk but no reward for the architect, after building the station you're on the even playing ground with someone who just jumped in and docked to the outpost with 0 effort put in

Not quite even playing ground. If your system sniper is online, he's probably sitting in a fast and small ship just around the colony ship. You're stuck on the landing pad, likely in a slower freighter, waiting for the Brewer "You did it!" JPEG to finish. By the time you undock, he's halfway to the port.
