System in/out of range question?

Hi all, just a quick question.

I was sat docked in a station hoping I could take 7 units of stolen gold to Morgor. My galaxy map and target list didn't allow the jump as I was outside range.

So, anticipating the feds stripping me of my goodies as I had a wanted status too, I left the station in the wake of another ship, thinking that might cloak my signature and allow be to boost the heck outta there.

After a second boost & without a cargo scan I hit the target menu once more. This time Morgor "was" available and I duly selected and jumped there without wasting any time.

Anyone know if this is just a minor BETA glitch or might there be a reasoning as to why the jump wasn't visible in dock yet was visible in flight? It's no bother either way, just be good to know if there's a rationale for it.

Thanks in advance.

I really doubt what I am about to suggest actually happened but...

I suppose it is possible that you were right on the bubble to make that jump and the fuel you spent leaving spacedock and boosting actually lightened the ship enough to make the jump possible.

Again, though, I REALLY doubt that happened.

Really.

Also, if you had a full tank when leaving, you can certainly try to replicate that behavior.

Thanks guys, won't be easy to replicate but I had just filled up and the jump was on the edge of a bubble. Will also keep my eyes open and post here again if I can replicate or see it again.

Nice, Lister of Smeg :)

I've seen this happen a number of times. I've seen it go the other way as well; a jump shows up as doable when I'm docked (and after I've loaded up with cargo) but then when I try to make the jump it won't let me, and the route line no longer shows up on the galaxy map.

Well last night I tried to jump to tillian and got the station on the list, locked on fine, but on trying to engage hyper got a warning on exceeding fuel usage of 2.4 tons.

Docked and tried again no luck.

Sold some guns.... Then it worked.

Same here. Many times.
