Heya pilots, here are a few suggestions to improve the exploration fun
improvements mostly System map:
there should be a way to make it more intriguing and intuitive.
right now after entering the system and using the Discovery scanner, you get a clear idea of what to expect from the planets just by watching their icons.. I think
there is something fishy about being able to see what they look like right away , but not knowing for sure their composition.
I d rather like having the scanner giving us mass, size and distance of the planets with just basic icons ( plain shapes ) to start with
then after ANALYSING the Star itself, adding more infos as in: HOT ZONE / ECO ZONE / COLD ZONE. that radius always depends as we know on the star's mass/size/type , and planet styles always depends on where they are in the orbit ( too far from the sun = ice planet, too close = magmatic/rock )
THEN and only THEN should the Star system give us more infos on planets ( probability of a living world, or a metallic world )
you then decide to scan a particular planet ( by the way, you should be able to select a planet for direction FROM the system map at this point
and follow with the classic approach / analyse.. then and ONLY THEN do you update the system map with the planet's final icon
this way we could also see right away wich planet has been already scanned or not ( if another players passed by )
OH and another suggestion: we should use HOT/ECO and COLD zones to affect spaceships too.. If you are in a distance between mercury and the sun for instance , you should still deal with a certain % of heat amound, it could affect battles and navigation, add new modules too cool down even more and so on.. blue stars , neutrinos should be more radiactive, stressing out the cockpit and its safety counter measures... space is such a dangerous place
