System map navigation

Am I missing something here?

Seems the only way to navigate the system map is to click on a stellar object, or to use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out. Sometimes I've seen systems where two stars are far apart and only a small bit of both are displayed on the screen together. So I have to click on one or the other to view it which scrolls the map away from the other star, putting it off screen. Then leave the system map, go back in to it, and click on the other.

Aren't there any keys for moving around the map? I've tried everything and looked in the controls options - can't seem to see any way to change the very basic navigation as I currently have it. Perhaps I'm being dumb (entirely possible) or that is how it is. Perhaps to be improved upon later?

Hold right mouse button to move your plane up and down
Hold left and right mouse button to move around on your current plane.

This works for the System View? I thought that was for the Galaxy Map.

I'd be interested if it is, 'cos I have the same issue as the OP.

I take it all back. I tried it out and WASD does move the local system map. Besides all of this, you can do custom mapping of this in options.

WASD does work in system view
As a sidenote if using VR the sytem is displayed in nice 3D representation so you can kindof look around freely (there are a few bugs like rings not displayed if looked at from below .. but those are small issues)

Hmm, must be missing some keymaps then as they don't move my system map, nor does the joystick. My mouse works fine navigating galaxy view, but again not the system one. I shall delve back in to the control options and see what's what. There are no specific system view settings so I assume those for the galaxy map apply.
