System map planetary sounds (+ maybe wave scanner) volume control

In short it would be nice if there was a way to adjust these sounds, or at the very least the sounds on the system map, the planet sounds, and system sounds would be upped to the volume of the sounds is...very...very low, and while that's great and all, great use of dynamic range, it provides some issues for people with less perfect hearing or noise levels.

Personally I have tinnitus and a very good sound system that covers the games dynamic range quite well, but the planet/system sounds are just.....so, so faint, Its not like its a challenge to turn up the volume of the game, but then I have to do it every single time when I have to listen to a system, where the wave scanner has a much more appropriate level of volume compared to the rest of the sound environment.

So yeah, volume control a way to adjust it up/down separately or maybe just the planetary sounds being turned up would be very appreciated they sound absolutely astonishing, just...very low volume on them compared to the rest of the stuff around you, and if you forget to turn down volume after listening again, the rest of the sounds blast you away.

Best current solution is sound options, set to night time mode.reduces other sounds and keeps quiet noises audiable. Works well for system map sounds

Hmm really squishes it together, currently running the "normal" dynamic range, but will give night time a try, still an option for it, since this is the only issue would be nice.

Dynamic range is all very well, but some of us lose out rather than benefit from this. I'm not ancient, but I am old enough to have fairly ropey hearing. I'm aware that there's a lot of sounds I'm not able to hear in the game. It strikes me as a waste of the sound team's magnificent work, unfortunate for them and for me.

Night mode isn't a thing I want to use: I don't want any sounds reduced, just the quieter ones amplified a bit.

I would like to see separate minimum and maximum master volume sliders, each with test noises, so I can decide what's most comfortable.

I think you might misunderstand dynamic range.
Dynamic range is basically the difference in volume between the max and minimum sound.
The wider this range is, the wider dynamic range something has because you can fit more variation in there.
Full Dynamic range has what is considered full range by many industry standards, but it depending on what you want to be the lowest volume, something like an explosion next to your ship could end up being VERY loud.
Normal is well, normal, no clue what that is in terms of ranges but works good for me.
Night time, simply reduces the range futher, _all_ the sounds are there, but the scale of volume is more limited, meaning there's less volume difference between weakest and loudest.

Explains it fairly well with visuals, if you've ever seen a waveform it is basically what decides how tall it can be.

But yeah more sliders wouldn't be a bad thing.
