System Pemit Unlock - QOL Suggestion...

To whom it may concern...

QOL Suggestion - Would FDev consider putting some version of the below text into the invitation for faction controlled system permits?

1. Find a station where the (insert the name of the faction that is in control of the system permit) is the controlling faction...

2. Any profitable activity, such as selling exploration data, mining and selling it at that station or trading AT A PROFIT that you have at those stations that is not mission related will increase your reputation faster than just doing missions alone. The use these types of activities , when the mission boards are empty (which happens a lot), will also help moderate any grind that you are doing by adding activities that you enjoy instead of endless data missions and the like.

The above blurb might help to lower the amount of player frustration and as well the endless forum rants. Tall order I know...

BTW.. I do realize this would not only require that said commander read the text, but also comprehend the information...

You do get that info when there are 0/0 missions for a faction. My issue is that you don't see that information unless there's 0/0 missions. Missions are the worst way to gain rep, so I want to see that info immediately. I want to see it because not all profitable activities will raise rep with a faction. I'm trying to get the Nastrond permit right now and the 0/0 blurb for them doesn't say Bounty Hunting is an activity they want you to do. I've banged my head on that one before (handing in millions in bounties and wondering why my rep isn't going up).

That's already a thing?

To clarify:
- Selling for a profit on commodity market
- Black market sales (until 2.3 lands)
- handing in exploration data

... all increase your rep with the owner of that station. Likewise.
- Handing in bounties
- Handing in combat bonds

... when issued by that faction increase rep (quite significantly too, 1m in bounties/bonds issued by that faction will increase rep to nearly allied)

Re-read, realise OP want's helper text

I am with op on this. If i understood his request correctly :)
One of the annoying things in Elite is the lack of information available in-game. (Or if you prefer, the lack of a centralized in-game source of information)
It is about time Fdev added in an Encyclopedia Galactica with clickable entries and information.
I recently had a friend of mine start playing Elite, one of his biggest let downs was that almost all information needed is gained via meta-gaming (forums, Youtube, EDDB, Wiki, etc etc) and not given in-game.

A little example of one thing that happened. Felicity Farseer asked him for Meta-Alloys, Just try finding information about Meta-Alloys in-game.
Maybe its there and Maybe we missed it. And just maybe an Encyclopedia Galactica in-game would have helped tremendously.

Meta-alloy stuff is in Galnet - well assuming it still goes back that far!
Have to admit, I used to use the spreadsheet of locations before I stumbled on them being sold at the planet base! I am pretty confident they are in eddb as well. Good point about ingame though.

As someonse said above you only learn how to increase rep using other methods, if there 0/0 missions and you read the mission givers blurb. Most people ignore it if there are missions, do not look at states and pending states and assume game is broken if only certain missions come up.

I think yellow text on the engineer screen is the best place for this info for engineers that want a permit.

Galnet doesn't go back that far in-game. Nice try though.
