System pics of ELW/WW/AWs that you didn't think were?

Anyone got system pics of earthlike, water, or ammonia worlds that you didn't think they were?

Basically i'm going to put together a visual guide of those types of planets to aid explorers in visual identification.

Some of them it think are not obvious they are what they are. I've got a good selection of pics myself, so mainly looking to see if people have planet pics (from system map only) that really were unexpected.

To be useful to me, they need to be targetted with the planetary info, and ideally zoomed in as far as possible, although that's not essential if not as long as the planet image is clear.

Also, feel free to submit any that really fooled you into thinking they were going to be one of these. There are some HMCs that look very much like ELWs or WWs... but i've got plenty of those from my own collection.

Don't think so, although I'll double check when I'm at the right computer and also try to remember to grab a picture next time it happens to me.

Yep, found an hidden WW.

Have a look here. ;)

Edit : In fact i knew it was WW because of the sound in SysMap.

I found an Ammonia World once, that looked almost exactly like an Icy Planet - unfortunately I didn't think about taking pictures of it nor did I take a note of it :/

No pics, but found from an aural clues a few WWs disguised as HMCs.

Nah, sorry, that one is obviously a water world.

Damn you! :D

You mean the 3rd planet from this system ?
To me, it more looks like an Icy planet...

Just spent minutes repeatedly going back to that SysMap image thinking the highlighted planet did look boring (and very similar to the 4th & 5th, too). Then I properly re-read the next comment in your link and realised that the WW was actually the 1st planet, not the 3rd. Had me doubting my sanity for a while, there!

These two surprised me by being ELWs - they look much darker than the usual bright blue:

This ELW has a graphical glitch. I've been back to the system map on several occasions, but it always renders this way:

I might have taken note in as much as "Ammonia World" in the Notes section of when I used EDDiscovery - this was before CL existed. I've since imported those notes to one of my CL databases, so what I'll do is go through each system I placed a "Ammonia World" note in and look them up again - maybe, just maybe - that AW is in one of those.

It's a long shot, but it might just work.

Only thing to think about are the two types of AWs, and the yellow one can get quite cloudy and look a bit like venus

I know this is obviously an ammonia world, but it looks so different in the system view to the normal ammonia icon that i though it worth mentioning.

Edit: I have just noticed why it's different. No atmosphere,no cloud formations.

Edit: I realized that screenshot is a bit rubbish, so I made a new one all zoomed in

900 entries into my spreadsheet relevant to this topic. I plan to create a compendium of sorts when my expedition is complete. You're free to make use of it when I get around to finishing it. Lots of work ahead. x.x

There are some in my guide about planet sounds (see signature). If you find them usefull you can use all of them.

Just found another Planet, see it and think "Wait a moment, thats not a icy Planet but another one of these sneaky Ammonia Worlds!" But no, to my suprise it was a Water World!

I wasn't expecting this one to be a water world
View attachment 64415

which I now realise is a bit remiss of me, because I knew there was a good chance that this would be
which is odd.png

and the only real difference is that the first one has ice caps and ice on a water world really shouldn't be surprising...
