System pics of ELW/WW/AWs that you didn't think were?

Mr Agony_Aunt,

Does this one fit your expectation as an uncommon WW ?

The colour is the result of the twin star one M class and one L class
In any case the sunset would be very interesting on this planet. :)

What do you guys mean "sounded like" ??? I'm not sure i understand. I often have music playing while exploring so I must be missing something

If you mouse over bodies in the system map you will notice different planets play different sounds specific to their "type".. WWs, AWs and ELWs have fairly distinct and recognisable sounds..

Ninja'd :)

What the what sticks?! I've been exploring in this game for quite a while, and this is the first time I've read that you can "hear" a planet! That's awesome!!!! I love you all!

Good speakers / headphones REALLY help with this. You quickly learn to pause the mouse over a planet you're not sure about.

Wait a second, you are telling me that i didnt have to fly 600k ls and more to see if its an ELW? Instead i could just open the map and listen to the Planet ? Im pretty much Elite Explorer already and didnt know this [where is it]

ive seen people talk about listening to planets before but i always assumed it had something to do with space madness taking over or something lol

Yep, exactly. When I’m in true explorer mode I always wear my headphones simply due to system map audio scanning. I’ve been surprised a few times to find a high value world that really didn’t look like one at all. Plus, Elite’s audio in general is so frack’n good that the entire game sounds spectacular in headphones.

Apart of very weird HMCs that have blue-green regions (but I can spot those already, craters are visible on the blue surface), the rule "if in doubt, it is not an ELW" works perfectly without listening to the planets.
