system requirements

hello all! I just had a quick question for someone that is a little more knowledgeable than me on the subject...all of my system stats are more than sufficient to play Eliteangerous, but i'm not sure about my processor. I have and AMD Athlon II X2, will this be capable of playing this game?

Difficult to say. The current recommendations are a quad core at 2Ghz. But with a powerful graphics card; you will be able, perhaps, play correctly with a X2

Which generation of X2?

Old X2 4400+? Probably won't manage it, even though it was a magnificent CPU in it's time.

Dual core really isn't sufficient here, and even if you can make it work, you very well may not like it.

The CPS is anywhere between 18 months and nearly 5 years old.

They all have what is now a tiny cache and I think they are all dual core CPUs.

The rest of the system is probably just as old.

Without more precise information about what you have I"m going to say ....

X2's came out in 2005 or 2006 - and they really gave Intel a black eye.

Of course, Intel then came out with improved Core and gave AMD a bloody nose

I'd really like to see AMD come up with a new, decent, sensible core and whack Intel some more - but I don't see it for a few years at least

I actually was an AMD + ATI advocate for the longest time, but for my new quad core, I had to switch to Intel. The reason? The FX8k series eats as much voltage as my R9 280X.. *** AMD...
