Greetings,
Been having a problem since 2.2 launched with finding systems to mine. I've been hopping system to system near my mining ship to find planetary rings to mine. I'll enter an unknown and unscanned system to try and find pristine reserve rings. Trouble is, the system map is not displaying the quality of the reserves in a ring sometimes. I mean when you select a planet in the system map, previously it would tell me what the reserve quality (pristine, major etc.) was and then whether the rings are metallic, icy etc.
It still tells me whether the ring is icy, but now, I don't always get the information in the system map for reserve quality.
I am jumping into a system, firing up the advanced discovery scanner, and then scanning planets that have rings. I have both an advanced discovery scanner and a detailed surface scanner equipped.
This problem doesn't always occur though. From what I can gather, it seems to be that if there is a planet in the system that has rings, but the ring is only a single ring, ie: just one belt, no reserve data is shown.
If it's a system with no planetary rings, but has an asteroid belt, these get displayed normally. A system that has ringed planets, but all planets have rings with different belts, it shows fine.
Anyone else having this issue? Have checked patch notes and the scanning megathread, but didn't see anything in there.
Thanks
