System Skirmishes?

So I've been hanging out in a system that has local forces fighting against the feds (high conflict/low conflict zones).

Nothing in the news says why or anything, so I just keep on my merry way & ignore it.

I wish I knew why they were fighting, then I could join a side and fight 'evil'....

Why is this loose end left to the imagination?

It's probably just some minor conflict between small factions over the control of a space station.
This is the kind of stuff that I think should pop up on regional news bulletins, but they seem glitched. I have only seen one so far.
