Hardware & Technical T-16000m or Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas ?

I upgraded to Premium Beta and very quickly realized that keyboard + mouse is not how I want to play this game.

Could you please help me to decide which one to get:

1) Thrustmaster T-16000m
or
2) Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas

The price is same where I found them.

I understand that T 16000M has a high resolution (hall sensors) , but the T-Flight HOTAS has rudder buttons on its separate throttle.

Cheers!

I have a T flight HOTAS

imo the separate throttle is a must-have, after just a few hours as a beta backer, ive found it's what you need to control thrust in combat. I havent used the rudder yet, but it will assist no end while docking. Plus there's plenty of separate buttons to assign.

Personally I'd have kept my Saitek Cyborg for response rate, (and separate throttle) but the build quality is poor and it broke easily. (i rapidly went through two) The Thrustmaster joystick isnt anywhere as near as responsive, but overall it's solid.

The only issue I have is every now and again, (on various games) it decides not to map properly, it took me a few mins after downloading the alpha to realise why i was constantly flying left into asteroids, Reset my computer and it was fine.

t.16000m has twist rudder, personally I like the ability to have all the attitude controls on the stick as it were; I doubt I'd get on with separate rudder buttons. But my main reason for getting the t.16000m was the hall effect sensors, they are beautifully responsive IMO.

It's a bit short on usable buttons (being an ambidextrous design, 6 out of 12 base buttons are hard to reach) but you can work around that, either with the bundled TARGET software or with GlovePIE, depending on what level of tweaking you want to do. I hardly have to touch the base buttons at all now.

I went for a T Flight HOTAS myself. Yes, you get a sort of rocker control on the back of the throttle that can be used as yaw - nice if you don't want yaw on the joystick itself (and also nice, you can lock the joystick to stop any twist if that's the case). You can, obviously, re-map it for other controls - lateral thrusters spring to mind. It's a fine stick for the cash it seems, I spent sometime just using the throttle separated from the stick and used mouse + keyboard controls for pitch, roll and yaw with it. Great control and almost best of both worlds, but I'm too ham-fisted and really needed to go back to joystick. Certainly happy with the HOTAS stick and will do the job I think. Wife, kids and pets apparently need feeding and clothing - all the time, not just every now and again - so I won't be getting a warthog controller or X52 for that matter anytime soon (don't ask how I could afford the Prem Beta, let's just say two kidneys? Ain't nobody needs no two kidneys... :))

I've just bought the T Flight.... For £25 new, I thought it would be a no brainer upgrade to the Wingman Extreme I have right now :)

Also got fed up waiting for FreeTrack support, and got a TrackIR....

I use Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X. I think that............
...This joystick was created specifically for Elite Dangerous..

Well check in combat.

The lateral thrusters are mapped onto the rocker by default. Originally, I was going to remap yaw to that rocker and lock the twist but I've found myself using the twist yaw instinctively and wouldn't have it any other way now.

With the separate throttle and a dozen buttons plus POV hat, I think the TFlight is a no-brainer if you're on a budget. It's solid, well laid out and works well.

I went for the Thrustmaster T16000M, mainly because I'm left handed & I needed the 6 buttons on the base. But since, I've noticed it does feel good in the hand & has a good level of precision control.

Same here. I'd never used a joystick until the start of the alpha tests and I bought a T-Flight as it was the most economical way to see if I liked a HOTAS. I've been very pleased with it but I also bound yaw to the stick z axis and it is very natural. The slight "slide" that a twist to the stick adds when rolling is great, and is better than the control available with a mouse. You do it without even thinking.

I'd think that if you really got into E:D with a passion then at a later date a Warthog would be a significant and justified upgrade, but at its price point the T-Flight is a no-brainer.

I did a bit of research last night after deciding that my joypad is hard work playing ED, I purchased the t-flight hotas got it for £30 was looking at the t-16000m but I wanted the seperate throttle and its detachable if I need it to be.

I got the T-16000 simply because you don't need analog thrust. Digital will do fine. So left hand on keyboard for about 30 buttons and keyboard combinations.

I've tried a decent joystick without a seperate throttle (CH Fighterstick) and it was nowhere near as intuitive (for me at least) to use as a stick+throttle combo (X52-pro). Have ordered a CH throttle now.

Just my 2p.

I got my CH throttle yesterday. Even used it's utterly lovely :)

I replaced my old Wingman Extreme with a Thrustmaster T-Flight today.... took a bit of getting used to as it feels a lot different from the Wingman, but I love the HOTAS and more logical controls.

Also got TackIR today.... mind blown.... :D

Any reason why you cant use a joystick, then also use a gaming keyboard as your secondary throttle device?

A gaming kb has more than enough keys to allow for incremental changes in speed.

Anyone using such a setup ?

I recieved my flight-t hotas yesterday been playing elite with it and it make so much difference I completed the rest of the scenarios with it, I could not kill the anaconda with the joystick but this hotas is superb it really helps and makes it easier.
