T.A.R.G.E.T. GUI for Warthog Question.

Is anyone using the target software for their setup of the warthog? If so would you mind Telling me how to get it to work with ED? I set everything up normally but I cannot get it to work in game at all. Maybe I have the wrong .exe? I used the one from program files x86,frontier,edlaunch,edlaunch.exe.I would really love to have some curves set on my warthog. Thanks in advance.

I created a profile, setup the controllers I have how I want them using the tools provided, saved the profile. Now when I want to play Elite I open the target gui, select my profile from the list, and hit the run button.

Start Elite and configure your control options as you would with any other controller.

So I will still have to configure the controls in ED controls settings in the game? If that is a yes. Then if I already have my sticks configured in ED And I then setup my target software to match would it not work? <--- THis is what I did. And I know obviously didn't work but I guess I'm asking if there is a way to make it work if I already have them setup like that? Thank you for the response by the way. It is really appreciated.

Are you -

1) creating an profile for ED
2) mapping all your keys to that profile
3) saved the profile
4) click run profile

You may have created a profile but didn't run it.

Sorry I may not have been clear. I did run it. I have been using my setup for a long time. DCS series FSX etc. But for ED I didn't think I would have to completely re-setup all the controls in the in-game controls? So I may have to do that (after) the target setup? I just don't know as ED has one of the worst control setups not even allowing you to save a custom profile or even set joystick curves. Thank you for the response

OK what the target gui does, amongst other things, is create a virtual device. The virtual device is what you are mapping to controls in ED not the stick, throttle, etc.

So when you create a profile it lets you do things that just mapping buttons and switches might not do very well directly. A good example of that would be turning on and off 1 of the 5 LEDs on the throttle in response to something. Another example would be setting up a toggle switch to trigger a control in game that doesn't have a "hold" option. Also if a game had specific keys mapped that you can't change (for instance the screen shot key in ED) you could use target to map one of the buttons to the F10 keypress (which would not require you to bind anything in game at all). I do this for the recentre function of my EDTracker. I have it a button in target set to "press" F11. I have then mapped F11 to headlook on/off in ED and also to my reset tool's trigger as well.

If you have no special requirements at all then you could just map the buttons directly but I'll wager that to get the most from your warthog setup a custom target profile will serve you better.
