T-Tauri looks like a M or K?

I am not playing ED long and doing a trip to Sag atm.

Since 1-2 Systems I found strange T-Tauri Stars that look like a M or K one (yellow sun). I.e the System BOEPP CK-C C2-610 A
Regarding http://i.imgur.com/Lw01Dg5.jpg it should look purple or is that "flexible"?

Is this normal?

T Tauri is a phase of stellar evolution after the proto-star phase, where the star is pre-main sequence and under 2 solar masses. It is a type of variable star, and the color and look depends on the mass of the T Tauri, so it can look like either an A,F,G, Kor M class star depending on the mass and temperature.

You'll find that the majority of the T-Tauri stars you come across will look yellow-orange, exactly like a scoop-able star of type F,K or M.

It's always a good idea to check ahead on your route so you don't hit an unscoopable T-Tauri when you need to refuel.

As stated above, a T Tauri can look like any star except the super giant and gian O and B type. So unless a star is very blue, you should always be careful before digging into a star for fuel. Most of the T Tauris seem to F, K, and M because most stars are F, K, and M eventually.

The stellar evolution:

Under 2 Solar Masses:

Nebulae > Proto-Star > Tauri Star > Any Main Sequence (A, F, G, K, M)

Over 2 Solar Masses:

Nebulae > Proto-Star > Herbig Ae/Be Star > Main Sequence (O, B)

I understand. Lukywise I stoped flying "into" it for Scooping since I realised it must have been started allready. What a mean trap ;)

You start to panic when the fuel scoop doesnt kick in thinking its broken then look at the start type. It is a bit of a face palm moment. I reckon its about 80/20. 80% of those I normally see are as expected that off white colour, the other 20% resemble M's and K's.

Most of the time I'll plot a 1000 ly course and won't bother checking the star types along the way. T Tauri don't seem to be very dangerous. If you fly straight towards one at about 1/4 speed and start honking the horn, if you aren't scooping by the time the honk has finished then it isn't scoopable. Very occasionally I get a M or K that won't scoop for this period too, but by then tI can check star type on the system map or scan.
