T10 AX build...

Yes, I know they're renowned for being rubbish. But I don't care, I simply want to use it because it's so big and ridiculous.

It looks like we'll be getting some fancy new AX MCs soon from that CG, so I'll fit those. Or the buffed AX missiles, which can be turreted too. But even so I guess I'll need an SLF. That said, I maybe don't even need turrets? Thargoids to seem to like to fly right up and face tank you, so I could unload four large modified shard cannons at that point whilst hiding behind ridiculous amounts of armour.

Remember this isn't about the most effective way to kill Thargoids, it's about the most ridiculous use of a T10. And messing about with different loadouts is a large part of the fun in ED for me. Slotting targets with the META build gets boring after a while, in PvE at least.

What should I go for?
 
If only you could mount more than 4 AX weapons, then maybe it might be amusing. But you can't, so all those hardpoints are wasted.
There is a solution for this: Advanced Multi Cannons.

1-Only Fixed incomes.

2- There are only small and medium options.

3-Synthesis is required to deal Ax damage. However, this synthesis requires guardian materials, not thargoid like Ax Mc's.

4- Whether it is worth it or not is something that the person will know himself.

5- Finally, I hope the number limit for Human Ax weapons will be lifted. :)))

I asked a similar question many months ago in this thread and eventually came up with a suitable fitting. When you take my setup, remove the packhounds (they are useless). You can also remove the fighter bay, because frankly, I really don't use fighters in AX combat (the Guardian SLF are way too squishy). Other than that, it's a very fun gun boat and does a great job killing Scouts to clear a way for CMDRs that go for the interceptors in an AXCZ

Edit: Oh, and before I forgett: We'll be getting new and better turreted AX MCs soon due to the current CG, so the Type 10 will become even more fun (I hope)

Bear in mind that "soon" may be 8 weeks away. It probably wont go that long, but that's the stated end date for the current CG.
 
Yeah, that's what I want to do. Sod all that cold orbiting and stuff. Those are not even the modified shard cannons.

Well, if you use turreted ax mc, you need to scan the interceptor to be able to target hearts
Without scaning, you need to use fixed (or set the turrets for forward only) and set targeting to trailing. However, the convergence on the 4 large hardpoints in the T-10 is so bad that you will miss the hearts with 2 or even 3 of the AX cannons.

However, for scouts T-10 is nice, you can even set the turrets to fire at will and enjoy the scenery :D
 
I am (so far) a Thargoid non-combatant. But I keep on digging up this old video:


From this, I wouldn't consider those HPs wasted.

The current CG should be over soon (unless FDev shifts goal posts again). According to the CG text the new AX turrets would come "the following Thursday", which would be either next week or the week after

Just keep in mind you have to synth AX warheads for the missles or it doesn't do that.

T10 is UNSTOPPABLE against scouts. 2 large AX MC turrets, 2 medium AX MC Turrets , all on top.

Size 2 rail and 2 size 1 rails. 2 Large MC Turrets on the bottom large hardpoints.

target scouts, keep top hemisphere of ship aimed that way. Shoot other ones with rails to get rail gun practice while the 4 AX MC Turrents melt the scouts. It's how I got Elite combat rank.

My Plasma Shotgun wants to make friends with them on the ground.
 
Anyone know if advanced muticannon with AX munitions is pure AX damage, same as the AX multicannons?

Only problem is when their caustic weapons gets you, you're pharked. 😏

Seriously though, i see why you're tempted too. If it weren't for all ax weapons being turreted/fixed, or the ridiculous 4 weapon limit, the t-10 would prob be THE hands down best ax ship. Let's hope the current CG is just the first in a long line of improvements to ax combat.
 
not at all.. decontamination limpets or overheat to purge the caustic. repair limpets, AFMU to repair damage to hull and modules.
I was referring to your imagined on-foot escapades. There are no anti-caustic gear for on-foot yet. Another gind is currently being worked on. 😉
