Engineers T10 mining defense

So still working on my t10 core miner and wanted a bit of advice, It is running dd5 with drag drives which is kind of nice and means it turns fairly well, question i wanted to ask is should i go turrets, gimb or a mix of both? will be running grade 5 over charge mc in the large slots and rapid fire pulse in the grade 2 slots. any advice would be great..

Took it out for a spin and was decent enough at core mining, fighting 4+ ships tho not so much, ended up trying me new vette instead which i have to say was really good. Brawls and takes the spoils.. i <3 it

Unless you're in multi-crew, you can't fight the ship and mine at the same time, so it makes little difference

its not a dog fighter. Go gimbles or fixed and when attacked just fly backwards. Easy to keep targets in front. Flight assist off pitch when targets pass you. I do it all the time.

erm you can i do it all the time to break up the boredom. Also i got jumped by a ferdi and 4 vultures so i had to run in my t10, i hate running that said tho my conda or vette would roll right over them loot the engie drops and go right back to mining.

Anyway i have tried out all the big ship's for mining and tbh either Cutter or Conda imo kind of depends what i want to do, stay out and mine for a long time or just do a couple of hours, either way both can give a decent fight both are fully engineered and both have pro's con's.

Thx for the replies tho.

What I meant was that one can't fire mining tools and weapons together since they use different exclusive hud modes. Yes, you can switch between when attacked, but unless turrets will keep firing when you switch back to analysis, that's it. I'm sure some are skilled enough to switch around quickly enough to handle it, but not everyone.
