Ships T10 vs. Anaconda

I was thinking of getting a T10 and while pondering the idea, I did a mock-up build in ED Shipyard that was comparable to my Anaconda, but the little bit of increased cargo capacity, additional military slot, and extra weapons seem to lose their luster when looking at the poor maneuverability, weak shields, and the loss of 2 extra internal compartments.

I still kinda want one, but at only a 10 million credit savings, it has me thinking... why not just buy another Anaconda?

Anyway... just like to hear from folks who already have one... do you think it's balanced for the price?... or maybe needs a price decrease?... or perhaps a features buff?

I don't own one anymore, you can't really use it for much other than thargoid hunting since it has a low number of internals and a lack luster PD, the anaconda is like flying an eagle compared to the T 10 in terms of maneuverability and it is just as good at thargoid fighting.

I tried using it as a freighter but just use a type 9, they have the same capacity however the T 10 has significantly more hull strength than the type 9 and anaconda. I guess other than being a cargo hauling fortress or a xeno eradicating brick you could use it as an exploration ship with a 7A G5 FSD and exploration hear you can get around 30 LY jump range

If it got a PD buff people who don't care much about thargoid hunting could use it as a hull tank haz rez warship if they still want to limit the fire power they could give it a class 7, so gimbal\fixed weapons won't work well and you can use turrets.

Engineered the jump range was around 30 ly vs 33 that I get with the Anaonda empty... no big deal there.

To be specific, I was going to set up a T10 as an armed trader and re-purpose the Anaonda for just mining since it has more compartments... I've been swapping modules so far, just getting lazy I guess, but there's the allure of flying a new ship too. :)

Actually the 10 is more maneuverable then the Conda in 2 out of 3 specifications.
OP they are both great ships, IMHO, ultimately the choice in shops twill be dictated by exactly what role you are trying to fill.

T10: Amazing cockpit view, the ship and thrusters are major eye candy, solid cargo capacity. Great ship for Thargoid hunting and mining,

Anaconda: It can do everything. Seriously. It's a ridiculously powerful ship for it's price. Good cargo capacity (although not as good as T10), great firepower with a powerful power distributor to back it up, great jump range. Great ship for bounty hunting, the best ship for bulk passenger missions (RIP Beluga), powerful utility explorer (I'd still use DBX or AspX most of the time, but Conda can get great jump range AND equip search and rescue equipment like repair and fuel limpets).

If you can only get one, get the Anaconda. But if you can get both, get both. I personally am keeping my Type 10 for mining as due to it's internals and hardpoints, it can carry mining lasers AND still have more than enough left over for a ton of defensive turrets.

Not to argue... but by the specs it's not.

Out of the box before any upgrades...

T10
Pitch 22 deg/sec
Roll 40 deg/sec
Yaw 8 deg/sec

Anaconda
Pitch 25 deg/sec
Roll 61 deg/sec
Yaw 10 deg/sec

7A thrusters, G5 (+30%)

T10
Pitch 30 deg/sec
Roll 54 deg/sec
Yaw 11 deg/sec

Anaconda
Pitch 36 deg/sec
Roll 87 deg/sec
Yaw 16 deg/sec

Not astronomically better on pitch and yaw... but a lot better roll.

Just curious... is this one of those it's actually better than the specs thing?... they've done that before.

By the way... Merry Christmas guys!... and gals! :)

Did you try using different pip onfigurations? Different ships lose/gain speed and maneuverability at different rates for different pip distributions (I.e. a Viper IV is faster and move maneuverable than a Cobra III at 0 pips, but the opposite is true at 4 pips)

I love the vulture precisely for that reason lol. Only 4 degrees per second lost when at zero pips to engines compared to 4 when unengineered, engineered about 5-6.
