T3 Construction: Fleet Carrier Dock

A T3 orbital construction that costs 2 points, costing around that of a coriolis to build.

This is a specialized dock for a fleet carrier. Whenever the system architect jumps their carrier to the same object, it will automatically arrive in the dock. This has two advantages:
It reduces the carrier upkeep by 25%, encouraging carrier owners to park in their systems and stop clogging up the galaxy to reduce congestion
And it acts as an effective "reserved" slot for the architect, allowing them to always access the stations they build should they attract a ton of traffic.
You would probably want to limit it to one per system somehow as well, to avoid weirdness from having two on the same body or having them spammed everywhere

This suggestion is building off of https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threa...ewording-by-carrier-cost-modification.637618/ :)

Seems like raising the cost and forcing people to decom would be a better way of reducing carriers. If the endless attempts to reduce the cost by stealth even when CR are rained down like mana from heaven are any indication. 😈
Honestly with the introduction of passive income from syscol, i wouldnt be against raising carrier upkeep. My main concern would be under the current implementation that locks out many people who dont want to do hauling specifically, since theirs no combat or exploration passive income yet.

My goal wasn't to reduce the cost of a carrier either lol, just give an incentive to park it somewhere while your not using it. 80% is probably too much though in retrospect, decrease by 10-25% is more reasonable.

Credits have been busted for awhile though. Mining and exobio give a ridiculous amount compared to many other activities. IMO those are the root problem of credit overload lol, though to be 100% fair the game doesnt have a player economy! It just means new players only need to spend 25-50 hours to get their dream ship and fly into the black/bully thargoids/build their own system rather than thousands.

Idk, it's a situation with alot of angles. regardless have edited the original post.

Although I agree that the idea associated with such high requirements as the score system of 70-100 points is a bit to much and at the same time I share the view from that post that it is possible to associate the modification of acquiring cost by carrier to specific building I do not agree with, let's say, some percentage of modifying costs.
My reasoning is as follows. When I use a carrier, the current costs are 100% adequate, they could even be higher. But it would probably be unfair to people who use this asset in the game as a base for explorers, for example.
My idea, as I have already written, concerns more the fact that some of us somehow attach ourselves to these assets in the game, using it we were in the x system, we made a lap around our milky way, we traveled to colonia 500 times, etc. I do not have data points on how much the system works, which consists in charging a fee for this asset in the game every week, how does it affect the number of carriers removed, does it matter at all for FD?
The building you propose could probably be linked to, for example, a growing bonus with the growing level of system development. But the more I thought about it, I don't know if many people would be encouraged to engage more in expanding their systems by the lack of this carrier fee. After all, hanging this asset in the game for a year without any services is just 260 mil. For well established players it is peanuts, for me making such money is idk 2-4h of gameplay and i have my goal of keeping my "memories" for time of me taking break.
Idea where around u take break, u log back in and u instantly feel at home. You now have place that u build, u have all yours assets etc. and u do not loose yours progression. As side grade of this there could be less overcrow of carriers in specific systems, players have something that they postulate as their own place in ED.
And u can work from there whith such game loop, u could upgrade this system by adding for example carrier administration for this t3 building, perhaps introducing player made pre-made ships that u could sell on yours carrier.
Anyway my idea where simple and as i thinked about it more i think it where stupid. FD do not read suggestions to often so i'm not worried to much ;-)
