General / Off-Topic Tabletop wargamers?

Any of you guys into the tabletop war gaming hobby? painting, gaming etc?

long time games workshop/ warhammer 40k fan here along with various other tabletop/ board games

Used to be. Squad Leader was a thing. Lots of SSI and Avalon Hill stuff.

I ditched all mine, unfortunately... I didn't know about nostalgia hitting later in life and would have been easy to save some more stuff. I did keep a collection of Dragon Magazines starting pre-#1 (Strategic Review) I have been thinking of off-loading.

And, a new neighbor right across the street has informed me he has the original Squad Leader box in playable condition... so we may get a beer and give it a go in a few weeks. Not sure the feeling will be the same, though with a cold brew it should be enjoyable.

Wife and daughter like Catan, and lots of video games. Board Wargames, she doesn't seem interested as the pace is slower and usually just two players.

Now Risk, I can see reviving that with some neighbors... gotta go discuss that one.

I still have my Pantzer Blitz & Panzer Leader boxes in my bookshelf. Haven't played either in a long time though.

I love the painting side of the miniature wargame hobby but I also love the hex and counter games and have loads of them too.

I even have a (rarely updated) youtube channel where I go through painting miniatures step by step: http://www.youtube.com/user/ThePrimalAce

Oooh, I haven't painted any miniatures for years. Used to do a load of D&D and Warhammer 40k type figures.

I'll have to introduce my boys to that soon I think. ;)
