Take these passengers to a nearby system for 7 million or these ones to 2000ly for 3 millions

Thought on giving another chance to ed with this new update, but the stupid logic behind rewards just gets in my nerve.

Was thinking on making a exploration ship and get some not to long passenger missions to try the new exploration but the rewards are still all messed up as always been in the last 4 years. Its 50x times more worth to take a mission to next door station, than it is to take a mission to 2000ly distance. It just doesn't make any sense.

Also, why are all medium range passengers secretive?

Lost the will to play very quickly once again.

Yep, this ^^
At that price, you're probably looking at at least 0.1LY supercruising (about an hour, which, coincidentally, is about the same time you'd spend jumping 2kLY)

It's not just that. Even the missions to take people to the centre of the galaxy that pay 50 mill aren't even worth it. I was making 125 mil per hour doing Robigo to Sirius Atmospherics in my 1-jump Anaconda build and thought about doing some centre of the galaxy runs because I have never had any reason to leave the bubble and I have played since alpha, but running the numbers it seems that pays less than my current 1-jump runs. Having a quick Google, I can see that the fastest anyone has gone from Sol to Sag A is 2 and a half hours. Lets just imagine that I was able to fill each cabin with 50 mill missions, that's around 400 mill and even if I knew the route and did it with no breaks like the current Buckyball winner, that's a 5 hour round trip for 400 mill. That's not worth it when I can earn that doing 1-jump runs in 3 hours. Now... if they made it so you can stick passengers in partially filled cabins for 1st class and luxury only, then that may work out to be more profitable.

Why not rejoice that you found a high paying mission for a short distance?

Yes, I really wish that they’d give tourism and passenger missions some attention. I was out in the Orion nebula recently and stumbled across the Orion Nebula Tourist Centre. Sounds like a good spot for picking up local tourist/sight-seeing runs, right? The only missions that I found were mammoth treks toward the centre of the Galaxy for comparative peanuts.

Long distance passengers need separation

Payment for long missions is meaningless unless you want a "reason" to go 12,000ly and back again. Even mining gets a vastly better cr/hr than long distance passenger missions.

So why are there no "Thomas Cook, 3300AD" companies looking for people with Belugas or Orcas or Dolphins and asking for a lucerative passenger mission to Colonia or the 34th century's answer to The Wailing Wall? The best way to make the cr/hr decent is to fill your passenger liner, but the system only puts a half dozen people who demand the entire 32-berth cabin to themselves, to twenty different locations.

Those missions are explicable for someone who just puts some cargo space to one side but otherwise are doing the mission for something else. Not so much for an owner of the premier line of passenger ships. If you could pre-book your passengers, you could shop for a full load, but the games' design requires you take on passengers right there and then. Making the "You have 7 days to complete" rather meaningless. Either you spend 7 real life days doing nothing but hanging about or you do this one single mission, leaving most of the point of anything bigger than a dolphin moot.

It should be possible to play as full time bus driver. Currently not possible.

Mind you, it's a real grind to play as full time contracted cargo hauler or independent trader too.

But this one has options to fix. One example I can think of is make MOST of the missions in the passenger lounge for the same place. If this board doesn't go where you fancy, either wait for regenerated missions or go elsewhere. But you can at least then select enough to fill your cargo hold, no matter what size your ship or passenger suites.

If the one mission for 3mil/2000ly is accompanied by 20 other missions you can fit in and do to the same (or near enough) run, suddenly you're looking at 60mil/2000ly. If the 7mil/20ly mission is the only one you see short range, you still win on cr/hr, but there was little point buying a big liner for it, and you don't get to play around in Colonia.

Plus there needs to be more one-way tourism. Who pays 3 million to go to Ayers Rock for 20 minutes? You book a flight there, spend a week or more there, then book a flight back.

Biggest problem of the long distance jobs is that you have to keep the custards in the hold, so you can't even putter around 2000ly away and have a bit of fun doing something new in a new area. At least if you dumped your passengers there, you could do something else for a bit and then pick up a new set of passenger for the long haul back.

Missions are a shambles in the game. Why would you opt for crap paying hard work missions when you can do easier ones for more reward in less the time?

Wing missions are just as bad, if not worse with the Q4 update. Some source missions demand investment more than double the payout. Which means if only two of you do the missions then you break even. So you need three or four and then the profit is still worse than individuals just doing solo missions that pay far higher.

I have lost faith this will ever change. FD take too long to implement glances and improvements with the mission board, unless a missions is flagged as being a gold mine then they can fix stuff real sharp!

It's not just that. Even the missions to take people to the centre of the galaxy that pay 50 mill aren't even worth it. .

You are supposed to spend a couple days hanging round teh boards in a few systems taking the right passengers. Fit your cabins as you get the missions. Yes its a pita but you fill up with loads all going to the same or close destinations and then you scan everything on the way and you come back to fat pay off so long as you dont screw up the passengers. That god awful wretched auto scan the new patch brought in is probably quite useful for this. :)

The rewards are out of whack and need to be adjusted.

In the end, though, it's your leisure time. Do you want something interesting to do, or lots of credits?

I had this idea where passesnger hauling should be viable in system aswell. If you got 5 or 6 or more stations why cant you fit something like this and make money off it? Why not? I dont think they should have opened up the passenger cabin slots myself, but ignore that :) But yeah.. in system cruises. Bring a bit of life to the game and its not like its going to be the next big thing in credits but a reasonable income for people that want to role play bus drivers :)
