Taken out by the "Old bait and switch"

There I was minding my own business super-cruising with a load of courier data to a distant Outpost. It's quiet. I've done this run a dozen times. I figure this is a milk run. I'm having a cup of coffee in the cockpit while I'm glancing through this month's issue of "Glamorous Ladies of 39 Tauri" when I get jerked out of super cruise. I'm thinking what the heck? I check for contacts and I see it's an Asp Explorer (the bait). Well now. I'm in a fully armed and operational Battle Python with the optional "Triple lasers of Doom". I'm just about to comm the guy and ask him, "What's it going to be, the Intensive Care Unit or the Morgue?" when suddenly his wingman who happens to be in an Anaconda (the switch) pops out of super cruise directly in front of me. I mean, DIRECTLY in front of me. I slam on the brakes using both feet but end up plowing into the Conda dropping my shields to 7%. I think I started wheezing and I don't even have asthma. I pop chaff. I boost, boost, boost. But it's no use. The Conda carves me up like one of those Ginsu knife commercials not to mention I lost my "reading" material. The End.

The golden rule is never attempt to fight a ship that interdicts you. Never stop to see what it is. There is absolutely no point. You will always end up worse financially by lost time or repair cost.

A adrenaline rush indeed. Don't forget the heatsinks when needing distance to jump, makes your signature small and may drop Ginsu lock.

I believe the Golden Rule is 'never say never'.
When in my killship, I will bait NPCs into interdicting me by carrying a little cargo.
Look at the panel to see who's interdicting you, then decide if you want to take him out or escape.
Depends on the ship you're in, your skill in combat, and your pugnacity. o7
