Taking a break to play Xcom 2

I've decided to take a break front Elite Dangerous, or at least slow down my playing. Why you ask, to play Xcom 2! But, I will admit, my breaks from ED do not last long, as I usually miss flying and the visuals in this game.

On a different topic, I did the two CG's, first time doing one, and I was able to pocket 12M from the two. I do thank my Cutter for that!!!

anyone playing Xcom 2 now?

Downloading it now. I feel sort of dirty for admitting that on here when I have so much I'm prepping to do. Oh well, I'll play until I fail miserably. Maybe if I set goals in each, to cycle back and forth.

Oh, man, I would wholeheartedly recommend you to wait a week or two. The game is UNBELIEVABLY buggy!
I mean, I am used to many things from Elite, but this is a whole new level. :D

Also, as this is kinda Off-topic, here, I would contact mods, if I were you, and ask them to move this into off-topic section for other games before it gets locked. :)

Enemy Unknown was too when it first came out. I remember if I did things in the wrong order at the base screen it would lock the game up every time. Eventually, they worked it all out. Its a shame, because it probably cost the some stellar reviews in the beginning for bugginess.
.
I used to play the original and I must say, I thought Firaxis did an extremely good job updating the game while staying true to the original. I'll probably get 2 eventually, but not right away.
.
Edit: and yeah this thread probably needs to be moved to OT

Its kind of funny, but may I ask why make a threat about you want to play another game for awhile? Are there some valuable info hidden?

I actually just downloaded XCOM: Enemy Unknown. Don't hit me, but I've never played an XCOM game before....figured a 75% discount on Enemy Unknown would be a great entry into the series. Im loving it so far!

Xcom 2 is absolutely superb. Loving the challenge and the character pool but, yeah. Guns animations disappearing. Whole alien turns shown as a black screen. Massive freezes on the alien turn. Needs a patch for sure.

I play it too and man its great! Just had one of these Mission where first everything goes well but then everything goes to hell towards the End, one Soldier killed and one of my best man deadly wounded bleeding out. There are still enemys, but I can't waste time or I lose him so I grab him and dash to the evac point, the second soldier dashing too all under enemy fire - and the two did it and rescued the third just in Time!

No Game can caputre moments like these like Xcom, its just lovely <3

Yeah, the naming is a bit confusing. :)

For the younger folks, who might not know this:
In 1994 UFO: Enemy Unknown (XCOM: UFO Defense in USA) was released, and it became one of the classics of classics (owing its great time unit / action point -based movement/combat system to Laser Squad of 1988 which expanded the ideas of Rebelstar Raiders of 1984).

XCOM: Enemy Unknown, released 2012 is a 'modernized' re-boot of the series, deemed pretty good by many.

I'll have to work out some kinda time share system. XCom is my other big love. The difference is I keep coming back to Elite: Dangerous. I'll have worked through my main desire for XCom 2 after I complete the campaign once. Then I'll go back in six months or so for a more casual play through.

Hearing good things about this in the main. Bugs aye but not too many. I'll wait for a sale personally. Have too much else to play. Currently working through new tomb raider, division out proper early March, then witcher 3 blood and wine to get through. Autumn sales I reckon for me.

I only own three games that I play. ED, Xcom series, and SWTOR. But, I only game a few hours a day, but can play most days.

So far, I like 2-3 rangers with sniper and heavy support. The rangers are fun to play.

I was quite dismissive of the gunslinger until face off. Omg it's a game changer. One of my grenadiers for rapid fire on no cool down which is beastly. 2 sniper, scout ranger, 1 spec or psi, 2 grenadiers.

Some of the late game enemies are extremely tough though. Gatekeeper and Sectopod on the same map? Oh lord.
