Engineers Taking An Engineer Prisoner

OK so we are having a discussion as we have plans for 2.4 and the new Engineer locations especially. However this also applies to the existing Engineers.

At present the planet base of the Engineer is locked out of the BGS. What is your opinion if the Engineer's base could be taken over by another minor faction via the BGS? The Engineer would still function and nothing would alter to all intents and purposes, but from a RP perspective, another minor faction muscles in and controls the station and the Engineer is then forced to work for them.

Our player group would like to see this actually happen. We could see a Federation minor faction or Empire, Alliance or even Independent take over the base, install the restrictions according to that minor faction and because that minor faction now controls the base, it would take a concerted effort to oust them, as they benefit from all the Engineer trading via the BGS.

Please discuss.

What new engineer locations. ASAIK there are no new engineers as has been confirmed by FDev.

I am advised that one is very close to our location.

Sacra Oculus plans to move into a system where one of the new Engineers shall be based. We are 2 expansions away.
We would like to see the Engineer bases subject to the same rules as all other bases and look to control it.

in short, no, because the system the engineer is in is still subject to the BGS, so if you want to influence things you should have to work harder to do it.

on the other hand I wouldn't mind engineers moving if their politics don't align with the system changes, and that BGS/RP plebes who were instrumental in helping the negative change then were permanently blacklisted by the said engineer, but I guess that would be to much for BGS/RP plebes, who's main interest is spoiling others fun by using RP as a lame excuse.

I doubt that will happen as they seem seperate from the BGS so you won't be able to control them. Also there are no new engineers, if there are please point me in the direction of the info as I would like to see it.

Has anyone noticed Placeholder influence levels? We have found one indicating an insertion of an unknown minor faction and as we are told it may not be a new Engineer in 2.4 it may instead be the Placeholder for the Thargoids as a minor faction, requiring players to remove them like Emperors Dawn, or it could be preparation for a player minor faction. However the influence Placeholder is only 3.7%.

There won't be new engineers. There is code for additional but it won't go live at this time.
