At the helm of my brand new Exploravette !
...
You at the back, stop laughing !
No seriously, after spending the week-end engineering the hell outa her, I managed to get from her a jump range of 29 odd light years. Which is more or less an average jump range for an Asp, but enough to wonder in the galaxy.
I made my first test run yesterday by making a journey that was due for quite some time. I visited Betelgeuse.
For most explorers, going to Betelgeuse is like going to the backyard, I know, 500 Ly is peanuts. But for me it was a first time expedition, and I'm quite happy of the result.
I could have made the journey in half an hour, but I had to stop every now and then to scan every single planetoid of almost every system I got across, yes I'm that curious.
And tho' I never spotted any great vista like some here, I managed to get some pretty pictures.
And I even ended up having a proper scare, when I tried to pull an Afleck, and ended up pulling a Bomba.
Those ravines are REALLY scary now !
But in the end, I finally met my destination !
Space has this thing of distorting our perspective, so the first time I set my eyes on Betelgeuse I was like, that's it ?
...
And then I looked at the distance between us.
And then he decided it was a good time to fart !
This reminds me of a thread that affirmed this kind of thing never happened in game ?
Oh and BTW, you CAN fly through them !
And as bonus pics, some flybys of my Corvette, cause she is so damn cool !
You should see her surfing over the stars like a champ.
And then I decided to make a refill at Maya, and just when I was about to enter the Pleiades I wandered if it wouldn't be wise to add the following warning when entering the Pleiades sector.
Thankfully, even tho I feared for every single jump that I could end up hyperdicted, I managed to dock at Obsidian orbital with ease.
And now my eyes wonder at the Barnard loop.
I definitively enjoyed my experience.

The FNS Odysseus while landing

At the very top of a mountain ! *pretty sure I left my corvette somewhere down there ?*

And I even ended up having a proper scare, when I tried to pull an Afleck, and ended up pulling a Bomba.

You sure about this ?
