Each week, forces hostile to Aisling Duval whom we refer to as ‘the fifth column’ attempt to prepare the useless system HIP 1572 in an attempt to force us to expand there. What is started by organised malefactors is continued, we believe, by random Cmdrs who rely on the opaque Powerplay information in the game. They jump on the bus and join the efforts to add merits to the system that tops the expansion list. In a typical week, what is begun by a lone Cutter or T9 holding 752 tons becomes a flood of more than a quarter million merits. What exciting game play it must be to attempt to sabotage Aisling week in, week out. What a lot of money to spend. We don't see these pilots in Open. We are, admittedly, far from the only Power to suffer this problem.
We can normally rely on our Consolidation vote to protect us from this hazard, but last week’s vote hovered around 75%. After completing the Trello - profitable control systems we need to fortify - yet again well before the end of cycle, our heroic haulers were asked to prepare an alternative, less damaging system, as insurance against the vote falling further so the 5th column would not achieve their aim. With gusto and commitment, haulers racked up around 300,000 merits in the last two days of the cycle on the familiar Simyr to Na Chac Og run. We salute your indefatigable efforts to keep the Princess strong and safe.
Elsewhere in Powerplay, the threatening Winters expansion to Jaara was stopped by our combat pilots. The Feds did not push so hard as last week. Our BGS efforts were also largely defensive. Fires were started across Ts’ai Sh’ai sphere in an apparent attack on the fortification triggers of one of our more recent successful acquisitions, fire-fighting operations continue.
