Newcomer / Intro Taking screenshots in game

I've been trying to take screenshots since someone told me it was bound to f10 but no matter how many times I try in solo play the game doesn't seem to take screenshots. Did the keybinding change recently or is there somewhere I should go in the menu to rebind the key if I accidently unbound it.

You can't rebind this function.
Check your pictures folder in your user libraries. There should be folder named "Frontier Developments" and all screenshots in it.

Yep, check C:\Users\yourname\Pictures\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous

EDIT: Nevermind started working seems i just really need to jam the f10 key for it to work or hit shift f10 one of those two things. Thanks for the pointers and letting me know i can't rebind it though =)

Hmm, it shouldn't be the case. I'm at loss, here.
You could try to reset your bindings to default in game or delete the Bindings folder at C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options and re-validate your files through the laucher.

Just started working turns out my f10 key needs a lot of pressure to work (mechanical keys) if it starts up again I'll try that.

F10 - take normal picture
Alt_F10 - take hi-res picture, only works in Solo Mode.

I'm unable to take Screenshots too. I've tried validating the files from the launcher but still no screenshots. Realised the problem last night after a trip back from the Coalsack where I thought I'd taken some pretty cool shots.

Interestingly, I accidentally pressed CAPS LOCK during OPEN play yesterday and received a high-res picture in my ED pictures folder. Can anyone reproduce this?

I still can't get it to work, I've tried deleting the bindings folder and re-Validating files but no good.

I've just opened a ticket.
