Taking the training wheels off

Well, I feel that I'm about ready to do this. I've been gradually increasing my time in the black and I've learned some lessons. I've learned some of them the hard way, including one total loss of vessel due to what I'll politely refer to as a 'sub-optimal landing manoeuvre'. I've been lightly toasted by a Hurdygurdy/Class A where I jumped in between them - I was up to 140% heat before I'd got far enough away to cool down. I've been tossed like a leaf in a storm in Neutron star jets. I've crash-stooped over a brown dwarf. And always...always...there is beauty.

I have, I think, cut my teeth enough now. It's time to take the training wheels off.

As a result of a three-hour jonk the good ship "Are We There Yet?" is now docked up at Jaques. It'll be a week at least before I can launch again, but when I do I'll be out for much longer. The exploration bug has got me completely.

My current plan is to visit Sag A (why not?) and then head out to one of the edges.

I'll be playing in FleetComm, so if anyone is close feel fee to drop by and say 'hi'.

Well done CMDR.

I have had a similar experience and am on my second trip to Jacques in my second Asp X. Nearly halfway (again) and hope to get there this week.

What's your build?

Ah. Er, good question. Sadly I'm away from the game for a week, but when I get back I'll try and post it.
